People of Yellow
The Yellow Team | Dec. 20, 2022
Each December, Wreaths Across America leads a coordinated effort to remember, honor and teach about the sacrifices and heroism of the country’s military veterans by holding wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery and more than 3,400 other locations across the United States.
It’s a tradition the organization has carried out for the past 15 years every Dec. 17, which is now known as National Wreaths Across America Day.
Yellow and its employees partner with Wreaths Across America each year by sponsoring wreaths, volunteering, and encouraging friends and family to get involved. This year, our team members sponsored 660 wreaths and volunteered or participated at ceremonies at 33 cemeteries nationwide. Additionally, Yellow sold more than 800 commemorative T-shirts this year, raising more than $3,800 for Wreaths Across America.
“The holiday season is a perfect time to honor and remember those who served their country and, in many cases, sacrificed their lives to help preserve our freedoms,” said Jason Schenkel, Yellow’s military engagement program manager. “It is also just as important to provide comfort and support at this time to families who have lost a loved one who was a veteran.”
Below are photos of some of our volunteers and the wreath-laying ceremonies that they participated in.
